A new landmark
Named after the legendary Communication watch of 1990 – the first serially produced ANDERSEN Genève wristwatch – the Communication 45 marks ANDERSEN Genève’s 45th anniversary in sumptuous style. With a 38mm case crafted by hand, beautifully sculpted lugs, and a golden dial map inlaid into a centre dial tapisserie-engraved BlueGold, it is now offered in platinum as well as yellow gold. For each, three 15-piece editions, with maps of Europe, Asia or the Americas respectively, are available.

A new technique was developed in which the continental maps are etched into the BlueGold dial, and inlaid with a liquid gold lacquer.
The Communicatino 45’s handmade case features distinctive lugs inspired by the ‘teardrop’ style of those in the original 1990 Communication, now given a fuller, more sculptural cornes-de-vache profile. The centre dial is in our hallmark material, 21-carat BlueGold, created in our Geneva workshop by kiln-heating gold to achieve lustrous shades: deep blue for the platinum edition, and a cognac-brown tone for the yellow gold version. This is engraved with our customary wave-form tapisserie.
The sensational dial map features landmasses hollowed out and infilled with pure gold, via a multi-stage processed developed for this watch. The city ring features a new, bespoke font for perfect legibility, while the two-tone 24-hour ring features embossed numerals for the night, and recessed numerals for the day.
Inside, the worldtime function is powered by our ultra-thin, 0.9mm in-house complication module, originally developed by Svend Andersen for the 1990 Communication and made in our Geneva atelier. This is paired with a reworked vintage movement, fully hand-finished by our watchmakers. The bridges feature delicately frosted surfaces in high contrast to the chamfered and polished bevels and mirror polished screws; the BlueGold rotor, meanwhile, echoes the pattern and colour of the dial.
