ANDERSEN GENEVE × KONSTNATIN CHAYKIN AUTOMATON JOKER
JOKING ASIDE
Both ANDERSEN Genève and fellow AHCI member Konstantin Chaykin believe that watchmaking can be joyful, irreverent, and deeply crafted. The double-sided Automaton Joker is a testament to that philosophy: humorous in appearance, yet extraordinary in complexity, finishing, and construction. Limited to just 20 pieces, it merges another of our specialisms – mechanical automata – with Konstantin Chaykin's now-iconic Joker time display, showcased on either side of the watch.

On the front, the Joker's eyes tell the time – one disc for hours, one for minutes – while the mouth doubles as a moon phase indicator, forming an animated visage that is outrageous in concept and ingenious in execution.

On the reverse side is a fully mechanical automaton scene replicating the animation of our 'Dogs Playing Poker' Montre à Tact, inspired by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge's paintings. Here, the animated figures include the Joker himself, a collie, and a character reminiscent of Poison Ivy, who spring to life at the press of a pusher. Each moves independently: cards are revealed, glances exchanged, and chips stolen.
